Altria, parent company of Philip Morris which makes Marlboro cigarettes, has announced the release of its first electronic cigarette. The e-cigs will be sold under the brand, MarkTen and will be in limited distribution in stores throughout Indiana starting in August. The company says the MarkTen e-cig is both disposable and rechargeable. If a consumer wants to recharge the e-cig, an electronic charging kit and replacement cartomizers will be available for purchase. Two flavors will be available, classic and menthol. No word on whether more flavors will be rolled out later.
Many e-cig brands sell a disposable battery, but this is the first disposable battery that can also be recharged that we have heard of. If the battery is the same quality as other rechargeable batteries and within the same price range, it’s a pretty big advantage. Consumers can purchase them in a gas station instead of waiting online and if they like them, go back and buy the charger and more cartomizers. Can’t wait to get our hands on these e-cigs and do a full review.
